Certificate Information

 The Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification program covers a breadth of topics and is relevant for the following personnel working in manufacturing and municipal infrastructure:
  • Directors, managers, supervisors
  • Superintendents, foremen, team leads, lead hands
  • Engineers, technologists, technicians
  • Coordinators
  • Analysts
  • Planners
  • Schedulers

Participants will develop the knowledge to provide cost effective management of the existing physical assets and insight into future acquisitions, improvements in uptime, production capacity, equipment reliability, safety, environmental compliance, economic life of assets, return on investment and effective communication between departments.

Successful completion of the eight modules (60% or higher) leads to the exclusive use of Maintenance Management Professional (MMP), a professional designation, which establishes professional credibility, demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and creates a competitive advantage providing opportunities for career advancement and earning potential.

Recognition

  • This certificate is recognized by the Alberta Blue Seal Program.
  • Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) courses are recognized by the Alberta Environment and Parks Water and Wastewater Operator certification for Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits.
  • Course completion qualifies for CEU credits for Engineers and Engineering Technologists. Consult your provincial engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) association for more information.
  • Practitioners who have completed all of the courses in the MMP Certificate program will have the required asset management knowledge for either the globally recognized Certified Technical Specialist in Asset Management (CTAM) or Certified Practitioner in Asset Management (CPAM) certifications, and may pursue one of these certifications depending on the demonstrated work experience, skills and level of responsibility.

PEMAC Certificates of Achievement

In support of focused learning paths, two certificates of achievement are offered, Maintenance Work Management and Maintenance Strategy Development.  Each certificate provides an excellent entry into the MMP program, with recognition for successful completion of two MMP modules. 

Maintenance Strategy Development Certificate

Participants who successfully complete Module 1, An Integrated Strategy for Maintenance Management and Module 5, Maintenance Strategy Development of the Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) program may apply for Maintenance Strategy Development Certificate of Achievement.

Upon completion of the two modules, participants will have a better understanding of the benefits of an integrated maintenance management strategy, as well as the fundamentals of a robust maintenance program, and the various maintenance processes and methods that should be included.

Maintenance Work Management Certificate

Participants who successfully complete Module 1, An Integrated Strategy for Maintenance Management and Module 6, Maintenance Work Management of the Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) program may apply for Maintenance Work Management Certificate of Achievement.

Upon completion of the two modules, participants will have a better understanding of the benefits of an integrated maintenance management strategy, as well as the fundamental principles of work management processes in addition to the basics of planning, scheduling, and work coordination methods.
