About
The Sustainability Committee is a volunteer group of staff, students, and faculty with the mission to advance environmental stewardship and champion a College-wide green culture. We draw on the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals to create the College’s environmental plans, track progress, host events, and advance knowledge.
Currently, we are working on the following projects:
- Implementing our climate action plan
- Aligning our applied research activities with the Sustainable Development Goals
- Embedding sustainability into purchasing decisions and reducing our use of single-use plastics
- Revamping our extra-curricular “Sustainability 101 course” (available to all staff and students)
- Reaching our college-wide waste diversion goal of 90% and reducing the contamination in our garbage and recycling bins
Student members receive recognition on their co-curricular records for their involvement.
