At Bow Valley College, we are committed to maintaining a College culture that is safe, ethical, legal, respectful, professional, and inclusive. This is reflected in our Respectful Workplace Policy and Procedure, and our Protected Disclosure Policy and Procedure.

Bow Valley College encourages employees to report their concerns through Human Resources, or for students to report their concerns to their appropriate program director or dean. That said, we understand there are situations where employees and students may feel uncomfortable reporting concerns through these channels. For this reason, the College has decided to subscribe to ConfidenceLine, a communications service that provides alternate channels for you to report sensitive College issues.

ConfidenceLine will receive reports on many issues such as fraud or theft, workplace violence, harassment, ethics violation, falsification of company records, safety or security concerns, and malicious damage. We feel it is important to give all employees and students access to an independent third party in order to maintain confidentiality and anonymity, without fear of personal or professional reprisal.

There are two forms of reporting with ConfidenceLine. You can speak to a ConfidenceLine Agent by calling 1-800-661-9675. A qualified Agent will be available 365 days per year, 24 hours a day. This person will take your report over the phone. The second form of reporting is through an online form accessible through ConfidenceLine. The secure web application will ask you general questions about your concern to create a report. In both cases, you can remain anonymous to the College if that is what you would prefer. ConfidenceLine reports will be forwarded to either Catherine Koch, Vice-President Learner Services and Chief Financial Officer, or Donna Schendel, Associate Vice-President, Human Resources based on the type of issue that is raised.

If you have any questions about the Respectful Workplace Policy please contact Human Resources. If you need ConfidenceLine support please call 1-800-661-9675.

Bow Valley College understands that there are situations where employees and students may feel uncomfortable reporting concerns through official channels. By using ConfidenceLine employees and students can confidentially and anonymously report sensitive College issues without fear of personal or professional reprisal.

ConfidenceLine can be accessed one of two ways:

By phone at 1-800-661-9675 (365 days a year, 24 hours a day), or online at the ConfidenceLine website.

After receiving a report, ConfidenceLine will share the anonymous report with either the Associate Vice-President, Human Resources or Vice-President, Learner Services and Chief Financial Officer, depending on the type of issue that is raised in the report.
Five days following the submission of your report, you may follow up with ConfidenceLine to confirm your report has been shared with Bow Valley College Executive.

All full-time and part-time Bow Valley College employees, contractors, and temporary staff, as well as students, and other stakeholders can make reports through ConfidenceLine.
