Update on mask requirements and COVID-19 restrictions
On Saturday, February 26, the Government of Alberta announced it is entering Step 2 of its plan to lift public restrictions on Tuesday, March 1.
Following guidance from Alberta Health Services, the Chief Medical Officer of Alberta, and the Government of Alberta, the College has made decisions about vaccination requirements, masking, and physical distancing.
What is changing:
Effective February 24, 2022:
- Proof of vaccination is no longer required to enter campus
- Physical distancing is no longer required on campus
Effective March 1, 2022:
- Mask requirements will be lifted and masks will no longer be required on our campuses
- Our community will respect the choice of anyone who continues to wear a mask after the policy is lifted
What is continuing:
Because of the measures we introduced in the fall, we know there is an extremely high rate of vaccination among our community. This high level of vaccination protects us all.
These changes allow our highly vaccinated community to make choices about how to participate in future semesters.
We appreciate that everyone will have varying comfort levels with changes to these policies. It is important that we support each other as we navigate these changes as a College community.
