This highly anticipated competition challenges teams to analyze complex case studies and develop practical, impactful solutions to real-world business problems. Participants gain invaluable experience, enhance their problem-solving skills, and demonstrate their ability to perform under pressure. 1st Annual Western Accounting Case Competition

At the 1st Annual Western Accounting Case Competition, nine teams tackled a complex case study focused on the manufacturing sector within the technology industry. Competing in Calgary, each team demonstrated remarkable ingenuity by presenting innovative and distinctive solutions to a panel of esteemed judges. Their creativity, dedication, and hard work were truly commendable, showcasing a steadfast commitment to excellence. Western Canada Accounting Case Competition 2024


2nd Annual Western Accounting Case Competition

Following the resounding success of the inaugural Western Canada Accounting Case Competition held on March 22-23, 2024, I am pleased to invite your institution to participate in the 2nd Annual Western Canada Accounting Case Competition for Colleges and Polytechnics, hosted by Bow Valley College on March 28-29, 2025. The event provides a premier platform for students to demonstrate their accounting skills by tackling real-world financial and accounting scenarios. This competition is tailored for diploma students majoring in accounting at colleges and polytechnics, offering a valuable opportunity to apply their academic training to practical challenges. Degree-granting polytechnics are welcome to enter second-year students from their accounting programs.

Team Prizes:

  • 1st Place: $2,500
  • 2nd Place: $1,500
  • 3rd Place: $750

Each institution is invited to register a team of five students, with four students participating in the presentations. The registration fee is $1,000 per team.
