Course Description

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) is a classification system of mental disorders used by mental health professionals in North America.  Learn how to access and apply the information from this manual.  Use assessment screening tools.  Identify factors and criteria used to diagnose and treat mental illness. 

Recognition

Designed for continuing competency for social workers, and nurses. 

Qualifies for the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) Clinical Registry coursework requirements for “Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment Planning”, and continuing education credit.

Additional Information
This course is self-paced online, so you can complete it on your own schedule, within four months. There is no exam. Assessments are case study based.
