CHOICES - December, 2019
It has been a remarkable year for Bow Valley College. We launched our Open Doors-Open Minds strategic plan that provides our students with program offerings and work-integrated learning opportunities that help them to be work ready when they graduate.
It is my pleasure to introduce our new Fund Development Officer, Ila Rakhi. Ila is a great addition to the Fund Development team. We welcome her enthusiasm and her genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of our students. She looks forward to embracing her role and working with our donors, including those who support us through our Choices program
In another development, we recently celebrated the generosity of Bow Valley College donors at our Quest for Best Campaign closing celebration. We surpassed our goal of $20 million, raising $21 million since launching publicly in 2013. You can read about it here.
In addition, this issue of CHOICES we have a story called Stories for the holiday season. We hear from two women from diverse backgrounds about how they celebrate the season: Iniikokaan Cultural Resource Indigenous Elder Florence Kelly, who recounts a story of a traditional solstice celebration many years ago, and donor Rupinder Toor, tells of how her family views the holiday season.
And we have more for you to read. Be sure to check the listings of upcoming events.
I wish you all a fantastic season of giving, and thank you for your support.
Best,
Tasneem Rahim
