Leave a legacy gift in support of a Bow Valley College student
Thank you for all you do to support the Bow Valley College community. As generous donors, partners, alumni, and friends, we know you appreciate the value of a Bow Valley College education. Our students become graduates who help ignite our economy now and into the future. In an effort to expand the support we are able to provide our students, we have partnered with Will Power, a national movement to educate Canadians on the power they have to make a difference through their wills and estates.
Ken and Leslie Cartier witnessed the power of a Bow Valley College education through Ken’s work on campus as an architect.
“When speaking with Bow Valley College students, we heard so much passion and drive from them to redefine themselves,” Ken says. Ken and Leslie have pledged a $250,000 commitment to establish the Ken and Leslie Cartier Family Endowment, including a $51,500 gift in 2021. This is a gift that will live in perpetuity and provide access to emergency bursaries to students who are at risk of not completing their program due to financial reasons.
By leaving a gift to Bow Valley College in your estate, like Ken and Leslie, you can make a lasting impact. Legacy gifts can be truly transformational. They help sustain the impact of our adult education programs across generations through the power of endowed funds, which ensures students are supported through awards and bursaries in perpetuity. These awards and bursaries give students access to the financial tools they need to complete their education and change their lives. Our legacy donors can help our students ignite Alberta’s economic recovery and ensure access to post-secondary education for all Albertans remains attainable for years to come.
Even a small percentage of your estate left to the College can make a big impact. Choosing to support our students can also reduce and, in some cases, even eliminate the taxes to be paid.
No matter the size of your estate, you can be a part of this powerful movement for change. Wondering how your future gift would be used? Find out more here: https://www.willpower.ca/charities/bow-valley-college/.
