Bow Valley College team wins Global Case Competition for Americas

Dec. 18, 2024 (Calgary, AB) A team of Supply Chain Management students from the Chiu School of Business have won the prestigious Americas Regional Round of the ISCEA Global Case Competition, beating out teams representing universities and colleges from across North, Central and South America.

Teams were tasked with analyzing complex supply chain case studies and presenting their solutions through detailed PowerPoint presentations and video submissions. Materials were submitted in mid-November, with the winners announced on December 15.

The competition challenged participants to evaluate value chains, forecast demand, conduct supply chain due diligence, address environmental impacts, and propose sustainable solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency.

“This achievement highlights the exceptional talent, skills, and hard work of our Supply Chain Management students on a global stage,” says Andreas Lambrinoudis, program chair, Accounting and Supply Chain Management. “We had two teams advance to the finals – and for one to come away with the top prize shows the quality of students we have.”

The International Supply Chain Education Alliance certifies supply chain professionals in 57 countries, supporting the knowledge of people working in forecasting planning, warehousing operations, manufacturing, logistics and accounting.

The winning group, Team Logistica, is made up of Domini Espiritu, Ingrid Portugal, Milagros Sabeh, and Jasmin Baula, all second-year Supply Chain Management students from the Chiu School of Business.

Team Warehouse Wizards also advanced to the Americas regional competition – students Shameera Naiken, Rebekah Ranghill, Kern Babb, and Greg Charlton also demonstrated exceptional performance and strong analytical skills.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both teams for their dedication, professionalism, and remarkable success,” Lambrinoudis says. “We couldn’t be more proud of their performance and look forward to seeing the value they bring to industry in the future.”
