Bow Valley College named one of Alberta's Top 75 Employers for the sixth consecutive year

Honoured to be named one of Alberta's Top 75 Employers in 2019

CALGARY - Bow Valley College is honoured to be named one of Alberta's Top 75 Employers in 2019. The annual competition recognizes Alberta employers that go above and beyond in their industries to offer outstanding places to work.

“It is an honour to receive this award for a sixth year in a row,” says Donna Schendel, Associate Vice President, Human Resources. “We are proud to continue to be recognized for our efforts in creating a dynamic workplace where faculty and staff thrive. For our college to be an excellent place to learn, it must also be an excellent place to work. This award shows we are hitting the mark.”

Bow Valley College was selected as one of Alberta’s Top Employers for employee leadership training, leadership appointments, collaborative strategy sessions, and Indigenization efforts. It was also lauded for on-site amenities such as a quiet room for meditation and relaxation, a cafeteria with healthy and special diet menus, and subsidized access to a fitness facility.

The college hosts nearly 16,000 full- and part-time learners across eight campuses, including Calgary, Airdrie, Banff, Canmore, Cochrane, High River, Okotoks, and Strathmore. The Calgary campus is located in the heart of Calgary's downtown core, right next to the City Hall C-Train station. It offers an on-site daycare facility, a multi-faith room and features stunning architecture, state-of-the-art classrooms, technology, laboratories, simulation centres and the Iniikokaan (Buffalo Lodge) Centre. The campus also has sustainable buildings with district heating, LED lights and manages an award-winning waste centralization and recycling system.
