Bow Valley College becomes the first college in Alberta to receive accreditation for Diploma program
CALGARY – Bow Valley College is very proud to announce that the Chiu School of Business’ two-year diploma in Human Resources was recently accredited by Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) Alberta.
The College is the first in Alberta to receive this recognition.
“The CPHR accreditation is an acknowledgement that the Chiu School of Business is providing a business education that is preparing students for the future challenges facing business and industry,” says David Allwright, Dean, Chiu School of Business.
“We are very pleased that we have been recognized by the CPHR Alberta as the first college in Alberta to meet their rigorous standards.”
A comprehensive audit was completed that demonstrated Bow Valley College covers the nine major competencies throughout the two-year program.
“Alberta businesses are setting standards for human resources that are recognized around the world. Accredited programs provide the education that ensures professionals in our province continue to develop the best workplaces,” says Peter Dugandzic, Chief Executive Officer, CPHR Alberta.
Learners will benefit tremendously from this collaboration as those who have graduated from the program since April 2016 will be grandfathered in.
Learners, meeting the necessary requirements, will also be eligible to waive the National Knowledge Exam which is the first step towards professional certification.
