Bow Valley College Graduates Eligible for Post-Diploma Bachelor of Health Sciences

BVC diploma-trained health care graduates will have the opportunity to earn a post-diploma Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Lethbridge's Calgary Campus.

CALGARY - Bow Valley College (BVC) diploma-trained health care graduates will have the opportunity to earn a post-diploma Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) at the University of Lethbridge's (U of L) Calgary Campus. 

This post-diploma will allow graduates from BVC's Disability Studies, Pharmacy Technician, Practical Nurse, or Social Work programs to transfer into the U of L Health Sciences program, and graduate with the BHSc after two years of study.

This new program will be of interest to those graduates who want to pursue front-line management or supervisory positions in the health care field. With this BHSC graduates will have career opportunities that may include designing and implementing programs that promote health, collecting and analyzing health data, and shaping policy.

"This is an exciting opportunity for our learners. With this BHSc, graduates will add to their knowledge through courses such as public health, epidemiology, health research, and health management, among many others. We're excited about the many career opportunities open to graduates who have this BHSc, and best of all the diploma can be completed in one year," said Nora MacLachlan, Dean, School of Health and Wellness, BVC.

Classes will be offered at nights and on weekends, to fit the needs of working professionals.
