Premier Prentice joins Bow Valley College at 20th annual Premier’s Scholarship Luncheon
CALGARY - Bow Valley College (BVC) President and CEO Sharon Carry is pleased to welcome the Honourable Jim Prentice, Premier of Alberta, to the 20th annual Premier's Scholarship luncheon on Friday November 7, 2014, at The Calgary Petroleum Club.
Attending his first Premier's Scholarship Luncheon, Premier Prentice will be presenting thirteen well-deserving BVC learners with the Premier's Scholarship. Joining the Premier in honouring the scholarship recipients will be Carry, BVC Board Member Larry Bohn, Calgary business leaders, BVC donors and supporters, and representatives from all three levels of government.
The Premier's Scholarship Luncheon is a significant fundraiser for the college, and over the past 20 years it has helped BVC learners to reach their academic, career, and life goals. Since 1994, and through matching grants from the Alberta government, the event has raised more than $1 million, and provided financial support to numerous BVC learners.
Media are invited to attend this function, and light refreshments will be provided.
Carry and the scholarship recipients will be available for interviews following the luncheon. Carry's address will take place at 12:11 p.m., followed by the Premier's address at 12:45 p.m., and the presentation of the scholarship awards at 1:05 p.m.
