Free Tax Clinics
Free tax clinics are available for eligible individuals through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) and the Canada Revenue Agency. To be eligible, you must have a simple tax situation and modest household income as determined by the Canada Revenue Agency:
- $35,000 or less for a single person with no dependents,
- $52,500 or less a 5 persons household including dependents.
*Family size or household includes an individual, or a couple, and their dependents (children under the age of 18).

Community organizations participating in the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (VCITP) offer free tax preparation through walk-in clinics, by appointment, in-person and virtually. To find a free tax clinic near you, use the Canada Revenue Agency tool at Get Your Taxes Done at a Free Tax Clinic. In Calgary, call the City of Calgary 2-1-1.
Tax Clinics for Bow Valley College Students
Bow Valley College, in partnership with CPA Alberta, is hosting tax clinics for eligible Bow Valley College students and their spouse. You must have a simple tax situation, have a modest household income, and meet all other eligibility criteria:
- $35,000 or less for a single person with no dependents,
- $52,500 or less a 5 persons household including dependents.
*Family size or household includes an individual, or a couple, and their dependents (children under the age of 18).
Tax preparation will be done by appointment only. Appointments are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To participate in the free tax clinics offered at Bow Valley College, you must attend an information session to determine if you meet eligibility criteria.
