How to apply

I am a first-year student.

If you’re ready to dream big, Bow Valley College is the perfect place to set your goals in motion.

Starting college is a big deal. And we get that.
Education goes beyond the classroom—it’s about expressing yourself, building connections, and claiming your place in the world.

We’re here to help you rock your first year and stay on top of it all, all the way to graduation.
Read on to learn how to apply.

Step 1.

Apply soon because programs can fill up quickly!

Step 2.

To begin your application, have this information ready:

  • Your Alberta Student Number (ASN).  If you have applied to or attended a school or post-secondary institution in Alberta, you will already have an ASN.  To find your ASN, you can use the ASN Lookup service. If you do not have an ASN, the ApplyAlberta system will assign one to you.
  • High school courses and marks (for currently enrolled Canadian students only). Not from Alberta? Check here for high school course equivalencies by province.

If you have everything, you can begin your application on ApplyAlberta!
Be sure to keep this page open to complete the next steps after you apply.

Please note: A separate fee is required for each application if you apply for multiple start dates (intakes) or programs.

Step 4.

You’re almost done! Make sure you provide us with complete, accurate transcripts of your education history.

You must submit transcripts from all post-secondary institutions that you’ve attended. These transcripts become the property of Bow Valley College and will not be returned.

If you attended a public high school or a post-secondary institution in Alberta, you can create an account on myPass. You can then access and view your Alberta Education transcripts online.

You must provide proof of enrolment if you are currently attending a post-secondary institution.

Your application will be delayed if you do not provide the required transcripts or proof of enrolment.
