If your loan is being sent directly to Bow Valley College, you are not required to make a payment except when your loan does not cover your full tuition/fees. Funding may arrive after the deadline and can arrive in installments. Processing can take up to three weeks once your loan has been disbursed by the government.

If your loan is being paid directly to you, you are responsible for making payment to the college by the fee deadline.

Your loan may not cover all of your tuition for the term. Check your loan disbursement schedule for the balance that you are responsible for.

You can pay your tuition through online banking, mobile banking, or your bank or credit union's mobile app.

  1. Log into your bank's website or mobile app.
  2. Look for the "Bill Payments" section and choose "add a bill."

Online banking payments will not appear immediately in your student account. Please allow 2-3 business days for processing. Make your payment before the fee deadline to avoid overdue charges. Confirmation fee payments should be made with enough time to allow for processing in order to avoid losing your admission offer

  1. Call your bank's telephone banking. The number is often on the back of your bank card.
  2. Follow the instructions on the automated system or speak with a telephone banking representative to add "Bow Valley College" as a bill payment. Here are a list of most common charges you will see in your student account and what they mean:

Students in most Bow Valley College programs have their pace determined and fees assessed based on their credit load. Students who have full-time course credits or more for their program will be assessed full-time fees; students who have less than full-time credits will be assessed part-time fees.

Tuition is the main instructional cost of your program or course. It covers your class time, the instructor(s), and teaching assistant(s) assigned to each course.

This fee includes most services offered by the Office of the Registrar (such as a student ID card, transcripts, advising, proof of enrolment letters, and parchment) and Learner Success Services (including library services, academic support, counselling, and career services).

This fee covers specific supplies and materials required for a course. In 2020-21 the college will be eliminating this fee and including any material costs with your regular tuition.

Students in most programs are members of the Students’ Association of Bow Valley College (SABVC). The college collects this fee on behalf of SABVC, which uses it to support student clubs, scholarships, and other initiatives. To contact the SABVC or for more information, visit sabvc.ca.

The Students’ Association arranges health and dental insurance for members in programs of 26 weeks or longer. Learners with alternate coverage may be eligible to opt-out with satisfactory proof of coverage. For more information, visit mystudentplan.ca/bowvalley or call 403-410-1696.

The Technology Fee covers essential technology for teaching and learning, including classroom equipment, network maintenance, student information systems, and cybersecurity.
This fee supports services related to the academic and personal wellbeing of our learners, including intervention outreach, academic difficulties, emotional distress, and crisis management.
