ELL - I am a Canadian Citizen

Upgrade your English skills to make sure you excel in your college education.

Strong English skills help you participate in class, express your ideas clearly, and connect with others.

They also give you access to learning resources and open doors to more career opportunities.

Apply here to take the next step toward your goals.
Step 1.

Make sure the English Language Learning program you’re interested in is currently accepting applications.

Apply soon because programs can fill up quickly!

Step 2.

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  • An email address
  • Your Alberta Student Number (ASN).  If you have applied to or attended a school or post-secondary institution in Alberta, you will already have an ASN.  To find your ASN, you can use the ASN Lookup service. If you do not have an ASN, the ApplyAlberta system will assign one to you.
  • Recent Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) results (CLB tests are available at C-LARC)

*Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) test results are valid for two years from the test date. If your test results expire before you apply, you'll need to retake the test.

Got everything you need? It’s time to begin your application!
Once you click on the “apply now” button below, download the paper application or visit the Welcome Centre to complete your application in person.   Keep this page open to have all the steps handy.

Step 3.

Pay your application fee.

When you apply or re-apply to an ELL program, you are required to pay the non-refundable application fee of $75 CAD (domestic). Your application will not be processed until you pay the non-refundable application fee.  Learn about the different payment options.

Please note: If you apply for multiple intakes or programs, you must pay a fee for each application.

Step 4.

You’re almost done! Make sure you provide Bow Valley College with your most recent Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) results.

Email your CLB results to registrar@bowvalleycollege.ca.

If you're applying to the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program, you'll have to write the EAP placement test at Bow Valley College. We will send you information about testing after you apply.

Step 5.

You’re almost there! Once you've submitted your application and required documents and paid the fee, check your application status regularly for any updates or additional steps that may be required.
