Volunteering

Make a difference and gain new skills. There are lots of volunteer opportunities to choose from, both on campus and off.

Why volunteer?

There are so many reasons why volunteering is a great idea. Here are a few:

  • Make new friends and connections
  • Develop analytical and critical-thinking skills
  • Build your résumé and increase job opportunities
  • Discover skills you never knew you had
  • Gain more confidence
  • Discover something you're passionate about
  • Improve your experience on campus
  • Contribute to the Bow Valley College community

Volunteering through Bow Valley College is recognized by the Leadership Experience and Development program (LEAD). And it all gets added to your co-curricular record.

Bow Valley College Cares

We care about Calgary and our community. Staff, students, and alumni can volunteer at quarterly events that support non-profit organizations. Current volunteer opportunities are in Student eNews. Student eNews is sent to your MyBVC email every two weeks.

Interested in posting a volunteer opportunity?

Contact Student Affairs if you're a staff member or part of an organization interested in working with a student volunteer. Have a suggestion? We'd love to hear from you.

Learner feedback

We want to hear what you have to say! Do you have suggestions for student volunteer initiatives? Or ideas about improving campus volunteering? Email us at studentaffairs@bowvalleycollege.ca.
