Course Description

The course Supporting Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Learners provides insights into cultural differences in academic cultures and equips instructors with strategies helpful in supporting CLD learners, who are learning to navigate a new academic environment. The course also helps develop cultural awareness and intercultural competence, which are essential components for developing a global and inclusive perspective.

The facilitated five-week course is 100% online and has a peer-learning focus. Course completion is based on active participation on discussion board forums and completion of assigned tasks.

  • Employers may be reimbursed for up to two-thirds of the training costs through the Canada-Alberta Job Grant.
  • Course fees: $225.00
  • This course has been designed for facilitated online delivery.
  • Completion of assigned tasks and critical reflection are the requirements for the course.
