Next stop is City Hall - Bow Valley College station

Media Statement

We are pleased City Council approved the College’s proposal to rename the City Hall CTrain platforms to City Hall – Bow Valley College.

Adding our name to the station at our doorstep recognizes the significance of our downtown campus. It also provides an important, identifiable landmark for students and visitors to our campus.

A 2019 Bow Valley College survey on commuting behaviours found that 89% of our students and 55% of our employees use transit.

From a sustainability standpoint, there is a renewed focus on active travel modes and continued investment in transit and other modes of transportation. The City of Calgary's Downtown Strategy includes a goal of 60 per cent LRT and bus use by 2031, during peak periods. Bow Valley College is closing the gap on this target.

We look forward to seeing the signage go up at the City Hall – Bow Valley College Station and hearing the stop announcements as the trains roll in.
