Bow Valley College welcomes new Vice President, External
CALGARY – Bow Valley College is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mario Siciliano to the College Executive as the new Vice President, External. Siciliano begins his career at the College today.
“Mario brings a depth of experience as well as a commitment to Bow Valley College’s success,” says President and CEO Laura Jo Gunter. “I am so pleased to have him join our College Executive.”
Siciliano has made a career of leading nonprofit organizations and has proven his dedication to social causes for over 30 years. Prior to joining the College, he has previously served as President and CEO of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, the Brenda Stafford Foundation, and Volunteer Calgary.
He is no stranger to higher education and the College. He holds a Master’s Degree in Continuing Education from the University of Calgary, and has previously served on independent advisory committees at Mount Royal University and Bow Valley College.
“As a long time Albertan I have always had the greatest appreciation for the important role that Bow Valley College plays in all of the regions that it serves in Southern Alberta,” Siciliano says.
“The College’s programs offer opportunity to students from all walks of life, who aim to contribute all they can to their workplaces and their communities. It is an honour to join the amazing team and students at Bow Valley College.”
Siciliano’s career and leadership styles are grounded in building strategic partnerships, engaging diverse stakeholders, focusing on sustainable outcomes, and advancing organizational mandates and strategic objectives.
His portfolio will include marketing and communications, alumni relations, fund development and government relations.
