Bow Valley College proud to be one of Alberta's Top 70 Employers
CALGARY - Bow Valley College (BVC) is pleased to announce that we have again been named as one of Alberta's Top 70 Employers. This is the second consecutive year that BVC has earned this award, and been featured as one of only three post-secondary institutions on the list.
"We are delighted to once again be named one of Alberta's Top 70 Employers. At our College, we are always striving to provide the best services and work environment for our employees, and this year is no exception. In 2014 we introduced a new Employee Assistance Program, which provides 24 hour a day counseling, health and stress management, coaching, life planning, and e-learning," said Donna Schendel, Director of Human Resources.
This award is also an acknowledgment of the College's flexible benefits plan, which starts from day one of employment; health spending account; work-life balance; vacation allowance; and maternity leave top-up payments. In addition, the College offers two professional development days a year, free or reduced tuition, and employee-funded leave so that employees can pursue further education or go travelling with their family.
BVC is located in the heart of Calgary's exciting and vibrant downtown core, right next to the City Hall Ctrain station. Our central campus offers great workspaces and amenities, including an on-site daycare facility, a multi-faith room, and a cafeteria that has a focus on serving healthy food.
The College's South Campus is LEED Silver Certified and features stunning architecture and design. The seven-story space contains new classrooms, laboratories, specialized learning centres, the Iniikokaan Aboriginal Centre, over 400 pieces of art, and a fourth-floor patio with roof-top gardens and views of the Calgary skyline.
Now in its tenth year, Alberta's Top 70 Employers is an annual competition that recognizes Alberta employers that lead their industries in offering extraordinary places to work.
