Investing in human resources to co-create business success

In this workshop you’ll hear from two local small business owners (SMARTstart Mentor Dr. Heather Cowie – Airdrie Family Eye Doctors and Nikki Nordick, CPDT-KA, CBCC-KA – Airdrie Puppy Pals) who are passionate about putting people at the heart of their business. They’ll share tried and true people strategies that have resulted in local business success.

Kimberly Ho, President and Principal HR Consultant at Honiva Consulting Ltd., will wrap-up the workshop with a focus on essential steps you can take at different phases in your business to prevent unnecessary employee and business problems. Specifically, she will highlight some of the most common problems relating to legislative compliance and share a few current events to showcase some recent lawsuits where employers purposely or accidentally violated employee rights.
