Canadian Immigration Integration Project - China
As part of this project, Bow Valley College was selected as a focal point for information concerning immigrants from China, India, and the Philippines who come to the Province of Alberta. The goal was to contribute to more successful labour market outcomes for skilled worker immigrants by developing a model of effective preparation in their country of origin. Bow Valley College provided detailed information about the education system and the labour market within Southern Alberta.
CIIP provided free pre-departure orientation to all economic class candidates, their spouses and adult dependents, while they are still overseas during the final stages of the immigration process, prior to arriving in Canada. A mobile team served clients from other locations around the world. Services were available in additional service delivery locations as well virtually.
Participation in the CIIP helped immigrants prepare for economic success by providing information, planning, and online support through partners in Canada.
While BVC is no longer participating in the program, CIIP is still running with offices located in China, India, and the Philippines.
