Bow Valley College and UNESCO-UNEVOC
The UNEVOC Network is an exclusive global platform for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) with the aim to further cooperation between institutions worldwide. The UNEVOC Network, coordinated by the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre, is made up of UNEVOC Centres, which are established in TVET institutions and serve as focal points in the provision of services and platforms for international and regional cooperation in TVET. Bow Valley College is a UNEVOC centre.

International Awards and Scholarships
The International Education Department offers a selection of 22 scholarships and awards focused on international learners. There are Entrance Scholarships for our new learners, Learner Pathway Awards for learners transitioning from one program to another, In-course Awards for current learners. Our awards celebrate learners who demonstrate strength in attributes of leadership, volunteerism, community involvement, peer support and academic excellence.

Director of International Education
Mark Butler is the director of Bow Valley College's International department. He is an international development leader with more than 15 years of experience across many diverse countries and regions including Europe, sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. Mark runs a multi-faceted International Education department at Bow Valley College and on the international development portfolio, he oversees strategic and risk management, partnership development, project management, and contract development and negotiations.
Mark has developed and delivered many educational management and leadership projects, including programs and courses that have a participative and entrepreneurial leadership style. Combined with his academic background and industry engagement, his experience has allowed other local and international organizations to develop and grow their own senior management independent leadership styles. Mark has extensive international project management experience, specifically in Eastern Africa and the CARICOM (Caribbean Community) region (via Education for Employment programs and through Technical and Vocational Education and Training systems).
Mark holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (International) from Athabasca University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary with a focus on International and Marketing.Meet Our Team
