Bow Valley College Recognizes the Alberta Government Future Ready Initiative
CALGARY - Bow Valley College is pleased to be a part of the consultation process for the Alberta Government's new Future Ready initiative, which will involve an examination and discussion of the province's post-secondary funding framework, while at the same time ensuring that learners will benefit from another year of tuition freeze.
Extending the tuition freeze into the 2017-2018 academic year will give the government the opportunity to consult with stakeholders as they review the tuition and fee model in Alberta.
"We know that access to high-quality education and training is the cornerstone of lifelong success in a changing economy. Our students and post-secondary stakeholders are in the best position to help shape what Alberta needs for the future. This review will ensure a long-term solution to keep education accessible and affordable for Albertans," said Marlin Schmidt, Minister of Advanced Education.
"I am so glad to hear that the Government is putting everything on the table, including student financial aid, as they consider future models for funding post-secondary education, because to make it affordable and sustainable it's also important to look at how students will pay the full cost of their education," said Sharon Carry, Bow Valley College President and CEO.
The College encourages its learners and employees to participate in the tuition survey.
