March 19, 2016 - 11th Annual ADBC Competition

Bow Valley College (BVC) and the Chiu School of Business (CSB) are proud to congratulate our team, James Hamilton, Nadeem Jiwa, Nara Cazzolato, Graeme Broatch, and Andrei Banu, who once again demonstrated a high level of dedication and commitment at this year's event. Hosted by SAIT, 13 teams from across Alberta examined a unique business case with complex considerations impacting the bottom line. The CSB team presented a concise business analysis with strong visuals and a polished presentation. Thanks to Bart Chudleigh and Jeff Kawalilak, BVC faculty advisors, for once again coaching an outstanding team.

The teams competing this year included: NAIT (1st place), Lakeland College (2nd place), SAIT (3rd place), Red Deer College; Portage College, Grande Prairie Regional College, Bow Valley College, MacEwan University, NorQuest College, Medicine Hat College, Olds College, Lethbridge College, and Keyano College.

March 14, 2015 - 10th Annual ADBC Competition

Bow Valley College (BVC) and the Chiu School of Business (CSB) are proud to congratulate this year's participants, including BVC's team who took home second place for the 2015 competition! This is the second time in three years that the CSB team has placed in the top two spots. Over weeks of preparation, the students and faculty advisors focus on analytical, presentation, and teamwork skills. Way to go team!

As well, BVC is proud to have hosted this event during our 50th Anniversary at Bow Valley College as we were eager to showcase the “newest” school of business in Alberta with our beautiful, new state-of-the-art facilities. Dave Kelly, cofounder of Kelly Brothers Productions and former televsion host for Calgary's Breakfast Television on Citytv Calgary, was the keynote speaker for the event.

March, 2013 - 8th Annual ADBC Competition

Congratulations to the BVC, Chiu School of Business who won the second-place prize of $2,500 at the eighth annual Alberta Deans of Business Case Competition hosted at Olds College. Thanks to months of hard work, the team was well prepared to respond to a difficult business case focused on a high-tech start up. The team also received the “Most International Team” award with members having come from Venezuela, Dominican Republic, and India. Well done!


About the Alberta Deans of Business Case Competition

This three day event brings together Alberta’s best business students with the opportunity to compete in a case study. The teams are required to develop beneficial solutions for real-world business problems. All Alberta post-secondary institutions are eligible to participate and the competition is fierce. The CSB students must perform well within their regular coursework to be given the opportunity to join the CSB team. The CSB has consistently fielded strong teams that are highly competitive and our learners have been great ambassadors while representing BVC.
