As part of the School of Community Studies and Creative Technology, we offer an array of programs designed to make a difference in the lives of other.
Acquire the multilevel intervention skills necessary to support Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal individuals, families and communities in identifying and managing addictions. This 8-month full-time certificate program is classroom-based with an emphasis on community practicums and a focus on Aboriginal history and culture.
This 16-month diploma program will prepare individuals to become addictions practitioners - working with both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal populations. Students will benefit from both classroom and practicum learning opportunities.
Imagine a rewarding career helping others reach their maximum potential. The 8 month Disability Studies Certificate program will equip you to enhance the quality of life of people with disabilities, while taking an active role in creating inclusive communities.
Graduates will be prepared for challenging and diverse careers supporting the well-being of individuals with disabilities. Graduates of the Disability Studies Certificate program can continue their education for an additional 8 months and earn a diploma.
The 8-month certificate program will prepare you to provide quality child care in a wide variety of settings and be eligible for Child Development Worker certification from Alberta Human Services (formerly referred to as Level 2).
The 16-month diploma program will equip you to work in a child care setting at a supervisory or director level and be eligible for Child Development Supervisor certification from Alberta Human Services (formerly referred to as Level 3).
Are you interested in working with teachers in an educational setting to support children with diverse learning needs and exceptionalities? This eight month certificate program will prepare you to work with students supporting their cognitive, psychological, and social development.
Become a leader in health care by developing the skills and knowledge to work in management positions in the health and human services sector. You will build upon the health or human services diploma or degree that you have already obtained to fulfill a leadership role.
LEEP is an Alberta Provincial government program to help child care professionals advance from child development assistant to child development worker.
