Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada funds our full-time Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) programs. These programs are for Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees. Learners focus on all language skill areas (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and acquire the skills and knowledge they need to successfully settle in Canada.

Bow Valley College offers three full-time LINC programs:
Full-time LINC (Literacy)
Full-time LINC (Academic)
Full-time LINC (Practical)
Learners with CLBs of 6 or higher destined for further post-secondary training may also refer to information on our English for Academic Purposes program.

Initial placement is based on Canadian Language Benchmarks and in-class assessments.
LINC applicants must first take a Canadian Language Benchmarks test at the Immigrant and Vocational Assessment Referral Centre (ILVARC). The telephone number for ILVARC is 403-262-2656.
