Sustainable Business Management

Bow Valley College is pleased to offer this new opportunity for individuals with previous post-secondary education to launch a dynamic new career in Sustainable Business Management in less than a year.

You’ll learn the management skills to champion the new economic paradigm of People, Planet and Profit. Expect to develop a viable business plan, and implement a sustainability action plan that will create shared value, improve productivity and benefit the bottom line. Graduates will find employment in organizations increasingly concerned with sustainable business development - private sector, government, education, non-profit organizations, energy, healthcare, and many others.

Graduates find employment in roles such as:

  • Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Emissions Management
  • Environmental Accounting
  • Green Supply Chain Management
  • Green Sales & Marketing
  • Sustainable Business Development

In this diverse field potential roles include sustainability analyst, sustainability coordinator, green procurement officer, sustainable development manager, green sales/marketing consultant, and business developer of alternative strategies.

All students registered in this career program are required to write the Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES) assessment in semester one of their program.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements
  • 2 years (minimum 60 credits) of post secondary studies at a diploma or degree level in a business related field (for example: business administration, management, marketing, finance, accounting, entrepreneurship, risk management, etc). Equivalencies will be considered on a case by case basis.
