Career program applications going online

Starting August 1, 2017 students applying to a post-secondary career certificate or diploma program at Bow Valley College must apply online. Paper applications will not be accepted.

(Students applying for programs such as upgrading, ELL, LINC, etc. still have the option to apply using a paper application)

Why is this change happening?

Online application processing allows Bow Valley College to streamline the application process and promotes fair access to our programs.

What is Apply Alberta?

Apply Alberta is a secure, centralized online post-secondary application system utilized by 26 Alberta post-secondary institutions.  For more details, visit the What is Apply Alberta webpage. 

What is a career program?

Career programs are post-secondary-level certificate and diploma programs offered by:

(NOTE: There are a few prior learning career programs that will still use a paper application process: Health Care Aide Prior Learning Assessment program and LEEP - Life Experience Equivalency Process)

Other important information

  • Fall 2018 career program applications open at 8 a.m. on August 1, 2017, but applicants are strongly advised to start filling out their online application profile information early.*
  • Students are encouraged to pay their application fee online with a credit card, to ensure there is no delay in their application processing. However, applicants who do not have a credit card to pay their application fee can choose the "Pay Later" option and pay with cash, debit, etc. at the Office of the Registrar during regular office hours.
  • Any transcripts that cannot be requested online can still be submitted through the regular channels.

    Application help is available at the Student Advising CentreStudents are highly encouraged to contact the Student Advising Centre prior to August 1 if they are planning to apply to the Fall 2018 term.


              

*NOTES:
An applicant's profile, user name, password, and profile information can be saved on Apply Alberta prior to the application open date. Applicants can then log in to their Apply Alberta profile at 8 a.m. on August 1 to select their program and pay the application fee.
