Alberta Aboriginal Construction Career Centre
The Alberta Aboriginal Construction Career Centres (located at Bow Valley College and Norquest College) are here to help Aboriginal workers gains skills and employment in construction, while at the same time helping Alberta business gain skilled employees who can help them grow. We provide the training and guidance Aboriginal workers need to match employment positions submitted by registered members of the AACCC.The Centre is a partnership between First nation and Metis Communities, Bow Valley College, Norquest College, the Government of Alberta and employers in the private sector.
How The Centre Can Help
The Centres receive job opportunities from businesses, then works to connect registered Aboriginal workers with those opportunities. We provide you all the necessary skills you need to succeed; skills training, career counseling and job coaching. We will connect you with opportunities that match your goals, then stay in contact with you following their job placement to provide ongoing support as required. Our goal is to get you started on a career in construction, and ensure your career flourishes.
Start by Registering with the Centre
The first step on your path to a career in construction is to register at the Centre. We'll work with you to develop a personalized learning map to outline the the steps you need to achieve your career objectives. Your Centre career coach will also help you get financial assistance if required. In addition, we give all eligible applicants access to the Construction Safety Training System course to ensure you can be safe on the job site.
