Mechanical Engineer
Enbridge
|

I went to Edmonton to work at
Enbridge as a Mechanical
Engineer-in-Training for the work experience component of the
program. On the last day of my work experience placement my host
company offered me a one-month contract. This was a good start for
me because soon after finishing the contract, I got another job at
Fluor as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. It would have been very
difficult for me to get this position without participating in the
Work Experience for Immigrants Program at Bow Valley College.
There are no self-made men. You will reach your goals only with
the help of others. The Work Experience for Immigrants Program at
Bow Valley College gave me the opportunity to explore my potential
and discover new possibilities of what I could do. When you are in
a new country, one of the most important things that you have is
the belief that you have the ability to reach your potential and
achieve your goals. After that, all you need to do is
to put that
belief into practice. You never know what you can do until you
try.
