Karen McGlone and Dana Berquist are shining examples of how the Business Administration Diploma at Bow Valley College leads to rewarding careers. After graduating from the program, both Karen and Dana are working at Gibson Energy, an oil and gas company in Calgary, Alberta. While Karen is a Human Resource Analyst, and Dana is a Capital Accounting Analyst who work at the same organization, the two took very different paths to get where they are today.

Before coming to BVC, Karen earned a finance diploma in the United Kingdom and wanted to further her education in Canada. She chose BVC’s Business Administration program because it would combine with her previous diploma and give her an applied degree. “I’m glad I found this program. It fit with my previous education and the small class sizes were close and personal,” says Karen.

For Dana, enrolling in the Business Administration Diploma at BVC meant embarking on her post-secondary education right out of high school. The journey didn’t stop there. After graduating from BVC, Dana went on to the University of Lethbridge to take a Bachelor of Management degree with an accounting major. “The teachers at BVC instilled in me the confidence I needed to go to university,” says Dana.

It gave Dana and Karen essential and tangible workplace skills that got them to where they are today.
