Bow Valley College announces new Dean of Enrolment Management and Registrar
Bow Valley College is proud to announce the appointment of Kara Mott as its Dean, Enrolment Management and Registrar, effective August 8, 2022.
In this role, Ms. Mott will provide strategic and operational leadership for the entire academic journey of Bow Valley College students – from admission to enrolment, registration and records, and registrar services. She will lead a team that facilitates transfer agreements with other institutions, oversees student fees, and updates curriculum records. She will be the custodian of student academic records and issue student documents such as transcripts, parchments, and letters of enrolment.
Ms. Mott says she is honoured and privileged to join Bow Valley College at a time when Calgary is embracing economic diversification and exciting changes in the labour market.
“I believe equitable access to education is a primary driver for socio-economic development, and I am personally motivated to work for an institution that is known for the students that it includes,” says Mott. “I’m looking forward to being a part of the work to advance and diversify the Alberta economy. Bow Valley College is playing a huge role in that with its new Centre for Entertainment Arts and its push into the digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI) landscapes,” says Mott.
Most recently, Ms. Mott served as Registrar and Dean of Enrolment at Yukon University. She is adept at leading strategic enrolment initiatives, building team capacity, stakeholder consultation, and policy development. She is proud of the personalized approach Yukon University offered its students. She also led the Registrar’s Office through a transformation that modernized, reimagined, and aligned operations and services to the student lifecycle.
Ms. Mott’s career history includes time spent at Royal Roads University, Alberta College of Art and Design, and Yukon College. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary and a graduate certificate in Strategic Enrolment Management from Royal Roads University.
