Bow Valley College renames two Centres of Excellence to reflect Diversity in Program Offerings
Bow Valley College has renamed its two Centres of Excellence to broaden reach and understanding of the diversity of programs they both offer.
Effective immediately, the Centre for Excellence in Foundational Learning is now the School of Foundational Learning, and the Centre for Excellence in Immigrant and Intercultural Advancement is now the School of Global Access.
As Bow Valley College looks to strengthen its leadership role in social innovation, the name change to the School of Global Access opens doors to new audiences and brings awareness to the scope of programs and services.
Bow Valley College’s School of Global Access will continue to make significant contributions to areas of English language learning, career advancement, intercultural development, research and development, and global citizenship.
“Over the years, we have successfully introduced thousands of learners to language and workplace skills training programs,” says Elza Bruk, dean, School of Global Access. “From this strong foundation, we now have the opportunity to further advance this work to better serve an increasingly interconnected world.”
Bow Valley College’s School of Foundational Learning serves over 4,500 learners each year, by supporting their goals of improving existing skills or learning new skills for the workplace.
“The School of Foundational Learning will continue to seek new approaches to academic upgrading, creating access and pathways for all learners,” says Dean, School of Foundational Learning, Dr. Keith Seel.
