Bow Valley College Extends a Warm Welcome to Laura Jo Gunter
The Bow Valley College community extends a warm welcome to Laura Jo Gunter, our new President and CEO.
Laura Jo has held progressively senior leadership positions in both academic institutions and the private sector. She was previously the Senior Vice President Academic for George Brown College in Ontario. Her portfolio included all academic divisions, the Office of Applied and Institutional Research, Academic Services and Student Affairs, and the Office of the Registrar. Prior to joining George Brown College, Ms. Gunter was the Dean of two different portfolios in succession at Toronto's Seneca College: the Faculty of Information Arts & Technology and then the Faculty of Communication, Art & Design.
Ms. Gunter has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University, and a Masters of Business Administration from Queen's University. She chaired the Coordinating Committee of Vice Presidents Academic for Colleges Ontario, was a member of the Interactive Ontario Board, and serves as a Board member of the North York General Hospital.
Ms. Gunter assumed the role of President and CEO of Bow Valley College on January 1, 2017.
