Bow Valley College Naming of Two New Schools
CALGARY — Bow Valley College's continued growth has led to the creation of two new schools to replace the former School of Health, Justice, and Human Services. The new schools are called the School of Health and Wellness, and the School of Community Studies and Creative Technologies.
The School of Health and Wellness includes the Pharmacy Technician programs, Nutrition Manager Certificate, Practical Nurse program, Health Care Aide programs, and Recreation Therapy Aide Certificate. The Dean of this school is Nora MacLachlan.
The School of Community Studies and Creative Technologies helps Alberta diversify to meet the challenges of the future, including the creative revolution that is sweeping the world. It will consolidate our programs in Justice and Human Services and will add new cluster of programs in the fields of information, communication, and design technologies. The Dean of this new school is Dr. Cherylyn Cameron.
One of the new programs is the Health and Human Services Management Post-Diploma Certificate. This program has been designed for graduates of health and human services programs who are interested in leadership roles. The program combines health and human services sector knowledge with business skills, providing learners with advanced health and human services courses as well as business courses to prepare them for work in management positions in the health and human services field.
