Bow Valley College winter 2013 enrolment numbers soar
CALGARY - As S.Alberta's fastest growing college with more than 20 locations in the region Bow Valley College continues the welcome trend of breaking day-one enrolment records. On day-one of the winter 2013 term, the College welcomed over 5,920 new and returning learners, an increase of more than 15 per cent from winter 2012.
"We are very pleased to see that we have once again increased day-one enrolment at Bow Valley College," said Sharon Carry, Bow Valley College President and CEO. "Learners are choosing Bow Valley College because we deliver on our promise of any time, any place, any path, any place learning."
In addition to an overall increase of 15 per cent for winter 2013, the College experienced growth in all four major departments:
- Centre for Excellence Foundational Learning at 16 per cent
- Centre for Excellence in Immigrant and Intercultural Advancement at 17 per cent
- School of Health Justice, and Human Services at 14 per cent
- School of Business at 17 per cent
The largest enrolment increases by program were:
- Administrative Professional Certificate program at 50 per cent
- Health Care Aide Certificate at 63 per cent
- Justice Studies Diploma: Youth Justice specialization at 73 per cent
- Human Resources Management Certificate at 73 per cent
- Justice Studies Diploma: Law Enforcement specialization at 90 per cent
"My experience has just been great, the school is great the students are interested and the tutors are amazing," said Donette Wynter, new BVC Student in the Business Administration Diploma program. "I love the experience and am very happy I chose Bow Valley."
While the College continues to grow, and demand increases for these popular programs, Bow Valley College offers a suite of support services to help learners transition to College life including: Counselling and Specialized Support, Student Affairs, Financial Aid, Student Awards, Student Health Services, Career Services and Alumni Relations.
